Heat wave in Valley, students, parents demand summer vacations

SRINAGAR, JULY 07 .. On-going heat wave in valley has forced students and the parents whose children study in different schools and collages of Kashmir valley to demand summer vacations.

While the school and college students, parents and teachers from Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu have been demanding summer vacations, the state government seems to be indecisive over the matter.

While talking to PTK, a group of students said that like the past they are hoping for the summer vacations so that they can get rid of this buring heat, but government seems in no mood to give them relief.

“Schools and colleges in other parts of country are closed for summer break and vacations have been already announced in Jammu, we are not able to understand why government has not announced vacation in schools and collages of Kashmir valley.” a student told PTK.

He said that students studying in schools and colleges of Kashmir are also human and they too need break and the state administration should look into this matter and announcements of summer vacations should be made as soon as possible.

“The announcements that should have been made a week before as most likely vacations are mostly announced in first week of July. The temperature is rising day after day and it seems like the government has forgotten us.” said a school teacher who wished not to get named. (PTK).
