Continuing its endeavor to support education of poor and needy students besides felicitate and encourage its adopted students who passed matriculation examination with excellent marks percentage, Human Aid Society (HASK) Kashmir organized a felicitation cum distribution function at its head office at Dewanbagh Baramulla on Thursday.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla Dr. Bashir Ahmed Chalkoo was chief guest while as Executive Engineer R& B Baramulla Abdul Rashid Lone and Assistant Executive Engineer PDD Tariq Maqbool was guests of honour.
On this occasion 45 students sponsored by the organization including freshers who are violence victims, orphans, needy and poor children were provided textbooks, bags and other education related material among the children
The social organization HASK has emerged as ray of hope for hundreds of orphans, poor and violence hit children whom it provide moral and academic support to continue their education from last almost twenty years.
While addressing the gathering Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla Dr. Bashir Ahmed Chalkoo said, “To look after and help the needy, poor and particularly violence victim children of this society is our obligation. I assure all of you support and all possible help from my side as well from our department for all these children are part of our society.”
“And it is not sin to be part of this class as I have also come from the same background living in frontier village near LoC it was quiet difficult for students like to be a doctor,” he added.
Narrating his life story Executive Engineer R& B Baramulla Abdul Rashid Lone said that he too was orphaned in his early childhood but strived hard to fight the poverty and other challenges of life.
“We have to make crumbling stones as mile stones and achieve our goal. Life is full of challenges and you have to fight back,” Executive Engineer R& B Baramulla Abdul Rashid Lone added.
Earlier, a speaker Farooq Ahmed in his emotional speech told the students that they are not underprivileged but the people like me have also come from the same background as most of the families were poverty stricken.
Speaking on the occasion Chairman Human Aid Society Kashmir Bashir Ahmed Mir said that the aim of the function was intended to encourage and felicitate the students of HASK studying in various government schools who have passed matric exams with flying colours.
“Results of our sponsored students studying in government schools proved that standard of and quality of education in government schools good as they too got distinctions. There is lot of change since present Director School Education G.N Itoo took the charge of the department,” said Chairman HASK Mir.
Mir urged governor administration that some pseudo NGOs are being nominated for membership in different district level committees as these NGOs don’t work on ground and no social work and contribution in their records.
While counseling the students, Patron HASK and senior most journalist of north Kashmir Haji Karamat Qayoom advised the students to be loyal and faithful to their parents and develop spirit of helping needy and poor in at their level.
“ There should difference between the HASK sponsored students and others for we want to make your better human beings who feel pain of others and be loyal and obedient to your parents,” he added.
