Srinagar, July 11, Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Sh Aabid Hussain Kira on Tuesday visited the multimedia exhibition organised by the Central Bureau of Communication(CBC) here at the Govt Sri Pratap Higher Secondary School.
The exhibition on the theme 9 years: Seva, Sushasan Garib Kalyan was inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble MoS (I/C) Science and Technology, MoS in PMO, department of Personnel,Pensions & Public Grievances,Atomic Energy and Space on Monday.
The 5-day exhibition showcases the achievements of the government of India during the last nine years and traces the journey of Seva,Sushasan and Garib Kalyan, Mission Life and G20 Presidency through a series of photo exhibits, audio-visual aids and informative standees.
Day two of the exhibition was dedicated for the awareness about the public welfare schemes and programmes under the Health,Wellness and Family Welfare sector. Experts from the district health authority presented an overview of the schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram,Mission Indradhanush and other flagship programmes implemented by the government for health and wellness of all.
In his presidential address Sh. Aabid Hussain Kira made a fervent appeal to the people to come forward and benefit from a multitude of welfare schemes launched by the government. He said that CBC’s outreach programs present a great opportunity to the public to get first hand information about schemes and also avail on the spot registration facilities for schemes like Ayushman Bharat -Sehat and banking services.He impressed upon the youths to dedicate themselves to service of the society.
Welcoming the dignitaries, Joint Director , CBC, Regional Office, J&K and Ladakh Region Sh. Ghulam Abbas expressed gratitude to the chief guest and other participants for visiting the multimedia exhibition. He presented a detailed overview of the 5-day multimedia exhibition and the themes it covers. He also briefed about the mandate and activities of the Central Bureau of Communication. Sh Abbas said mass awareness is a key for success of any welfare programme and people have the responsibility to know their rights and entitlements.
He informed that the multimedia exhibition is open to the public till 14th July and each day is being dedicated to awareness about a specific sector.
The multimedia exhibition also features stalls setup by different departments to showcase their work and inform people about various schemes implemented by them.
The Private Registered Troupe of the CBC also presented cultural items during the day, enthralling the audience while passing the message of development and good governance.
The program was attended by the Chief Education Officer and Deputy Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Principal Govt SP Higher Secondary School Srinagar, officials from departments of Health, Agriculture, Horticulture,ICDS and financial institutions like J&K Bank, Punjab National Bank,Ellaquai Dehati Bank, J&K State Cooperative Bank and the Centre for Financial Literacy. Students and teachers from different schools and ASHAs also attended the programme on second day.
Earlier in the day an open quiz competition and group discussion was organised by CBC for students, to familiarise them with different programmes launched in the education and skill development sector.
A formal vote of thanks was presented by Sh. Shahid Mohammad Lone ,Field Publicity Officer ,CBC Field Officer Srinagar. He also informed that the third day has been reserved for the awareness about schemes for Agriculture and Farmers welfare.
