Acharya Dr. Aditi Sharma and the ‘Bharatiya Swachh Mandir Abhiyan’: A Spiritual Movement That Connects Faith with Service

Amid Delhi’s relentless crowds, fast-paced life, and shifting social values, one voice continues to resonate with unwavering clarity—cleanliness should not be confined to our bodies and homes alone; it must extend to our temples as well. This powerful voice belongs to Acharya Dr. Aditi Sharma, who has transformed the “Bharatiya Swachh Mandir Abhiyan” into not just a cleanliness drive, but a spiritual, cultural, and national awakening.

Acharya Dr. Aditi Sharma today stands as a powerful symbol of Sanatan Dharma, women’s leadership, social consciousness, and spiritual resurgence. A resident of Delhi, a renowned astrologer, social worker, and spiritual guide—she did not limit her life to personal spiritual practice alone. Instead, she dedicated it to the preservation and promotion of Sanatan Dharma, Indian culture, and social upliftment.

From Spiritual Practice to Social Service

After completing her doctorate in 2009, Dr. Aditi Sharma spent several years deeply engaged in the study and practice of astrology, religion, and social service. However, the year 2015 became a defining turning point in her life. It was then that she took a solemn vow to dedicate herself completely to the service of Sanatan Dharma, Indian culture, and national consciousness. In her own words,

Religion is never complete unless it touches the life of the last person in society. This philosophy pulled her beyond discourses and into active ground-level service.

Brahmin Sanatan Dharma Raksha Manch: Bridging Tradition with the Future

Founded by Acharya Dr. Aditi Sharma, the Brahmin Sanatan Dharma Raksha Manch is not merely an organization—it is a thought-driven movement. Its mission spans the protection of Sanatan Dharma, Vedic traditions, Indian culture, and cow conservation, alongside social awareness and the creation of a disciplined, awakened, and dedicated society.

Its core objectives include the propagation of Sanatan Dharma, empowerment of the Brahmin community, cow protection, organizational unity for the defense of dharma, social upliftment through service, and women empowerment. The Manch is not restricted to speeches—it works actively on the ground to reconnect people with religious consciousness and restore cultural values.

Shiv Shakti Mahakali Peeth Trust: A Spiritual Journey

Dr. Aditi Sharma is also deeply associated with the Shiv Shakti Mahakali Peeth Trust. For her, this trust is not just an institution—it is a spiritual journey where every step moves toward dharma, human values, and national service. As she says,
“This trust is a divine effort to re-establish Sanatan values amid modern complexities.”

Inspired by Lord Shiva and Goddess Mahakali, the trust works tirelessly in the service of religion, society, and the nation.

From Delhi to the Nation: Birth of the Bharatiya Swachh Mandir Abhiyan

Delhi, the nation’s capital—a political hub, cultural center, and major seat of faith. Yet it was here that Dr. Aditi Sharma witnessed the neglected condition of many temples—disorder, filth, and apathy.

One question disturbed her deeply:
“Are we giving our places of worship the respect they truly deserve?”

This question became the seed of the Bharatiya Swachh Mandir Abhiyan. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission, she resolved to turn temple cleanliness, sanctity, and preservation into a national movement.

Not Just Cleaning—It Is the Protection of Culture

This campaign is far more than broom and bucket. Its initiatives include maintaining cleanliness and sanctity of temples, making temple premises drug-free, protecting Sanatan traditions, encouraging voluntary service, respectful immersion of broken idols and sacred materials, recycling floral waste and ritual offerings, and most importantly—reconnecting youth with dharma.

Its core message is clear and profound:
“Serving temples is serving one’s own soul.”

Public Trust Was Built, Step by Step

The beginning was far from easy. Support was limited. There was resistance in some places and indifference in others. But gradually, trust from the public, administration, and temple committees began to grow. Today, the movement has expanded beyond Delhi into many parts of the country.

When Religious Leadership Is in a Woman’s Hands

Even today, religious leadership remains a challenging space—especially for women. Dr. Aditi Sharma too faced deep-rooted mindsets, restricted access to traditional platforms, social criticism, security concerns, and lack of resources.

Yet she diminished every obstacle with her unwavering resolve. She firmly believes,
“Woman power is the power of Mahakali—symbol of patience, courage, and determination.”

Sanatan Dharma: Between Crisis and Revival

Dr. Aditi Sharma does not attribute the present challenges of Sanatan Dharma solely to external forces. She points to weakening of knowledge traditions, commercialization of culture, social fragmentation, impact of modern lifestyles, politicization, erosion of ancient education systems, and misinterpretation of scriptures on social media as key contributors.

Yet she remains deeply optimistic. Youth are returning to spirituality, temples are seeing renewed life, and discussions on Vedic values are gaining momentum. These, she says, are clear signs of resurgence.

Youth Power: The Foundation of the Nation

She firmly believes that youth are the greatest capital of any nation. When young minds remain rooted in duty, values, and confidence, the future of the country becomes radiant. For her, young achievers like 19-year-old Devvrat Mahesh Rekhe are living inspirations of this belief.

Woman Power: A Harmony of Modernity and Tradition

In her vision, women’s empowerment is not merely about equality, but about a balance of independence and responsibility. Women must be self-reliant, self-respecting, and decisive. According to her, not rebellion but wisdom is the true form of woman power—one that guides family, society, and culture.

The Road Ahead: A National Vision

Dr. Aditi Sharma’s national vision is crystal clear—
a nationwide revival of Sanatan Dharma, expansion of the temple cleanliness movement, social upliftment, spiritual awakening among youth, and above all—connecting women with empowerment and employment.

Sources of Inspiration

The sources that shape her life’s journey are many—her spiritual mentors, the cause of human welfare, Lord Shiva, Goddess Mahakali, Lord Parshuram, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cleanliness mission—all of which have given her purpose, strength, and direction.
