AIP Thanks People for Overwhelming Support, Expresses Regret Over Inability to Facilitate Public Interaction with Er Rashid

Srinagar, May 1: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) on Friday expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people, party activists and leaders who turned up in large numbers to welcome Member of Parliament from Baramulla Er Rashid on his arrival in Srinagar.

In a statement, AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said the spontaneous gatherings at Srinagar Airport road and in & outside SMHS Hospital reflected the deep bond between Er Rashid and the people. “Despite being fully aware that the Hon’ble High Court has directed that Er Rashid shall not meet anyone other than his immediate family members, people still came in large numbers just to have a glimpse of their beloved leader. This outpouring of love and affection is deeply moving and humbling,” he said.

He said the party shares the emotional pain of the people who were unable to meet Er Rashid during this brief and sensitive visit. “We sincerely apologise to all those who had come with hope and affection but could not meet him due to the strict directions of the Hon’ble High Court. It is equally painful for us and for Er Rashid himself that he could not interact with his supporters at this time,” he added.

Inam Un Nabi further said that as per the directions of the Hon’ble Delhi High Court, MP Er Rashid Sb has been barred from meeting anyone other than his immediate family members. “We humbly request people not to visit him during this period, as it causes us deep pain to see supporters being turned back without being able to meet their beloved leader Er Rashid,” he said.

Inam Un Nabi said the circumstances surrounding Er Rashid’s visit were purely humanitarian, as he rushed directly from the airport to SMHS Hospital to meet his critically ill father. “At such a moment, a son’s pain takes precedence, yet the love of the people was clearly visible in every face that gathered,” he said.

He further thanked party leaders and workers for maintaining discipline and dignity despite the emotional atmosphere. “Your patience, restraint and respect for the law reflect the true spirit of our movement,” he said.

Reiterating the party’s position, Inam Un Nabi said, “This moment has once again shown how deeply connected Er Rashid Sb is with the people. We remain hopeful that soon he will be able to meet everyone freely. Until then, we request continued prayers and support during this difficult time for his family.”
