Altaf Thakur Pays Glowing Tributes to Slain Policemen, Civilian Tailor in Nowgam Blast

Hails J&K Police’s courage, professionalism and resilience, prays for speedy recovery of the injured

Srinagar, Nov 15: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur on Saturday paid rich tributes to the two policemen and a local tailor who lost their lives in the Nowgam explosion, calling their sacrifice “a reminder of the unwavering courage of our forces and civilians who stand firm against the terror ecosystem.”

In a statement, Thakur said the Jammu and Kashmir Police continue to fight terrorism “on multiple fronts with unmatched bravery and professionalism.” He hailed the force’s ability to deal with “complex challenges emerging from different directions,” noting that their resilience has been the backbone of peace-building efforts in the region.

“Today, as we mourn the loss of our brave policemen and an innocent civilian tailor, we must also salute the extraordinary courage displayed by the J&K Police. Their commitment to safeguarding lives, even at the cost of their own, is something the entire nation stands proud of,” he said.

Thakur also praised the police for their swift response and operational capability, which he said reflects the institution’s preparedness to handle both terror-related and public safety challenges.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the slain and prayed for strength to bear the irreparable loss. “My prayers are with the families in this difficult hour. May the departed souls rest in peace,” he said.

Wishing a quick recovery to those injured in the blast, the BJP spokesman added, “I sincerely pray for the speedy recovery of all injured. The government stands firmly with them and will ensure they receive every possible support.”

Thakur reiterated that acts of terror will not weaken the collective resolve to maintain peace and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. “Such cowardly attacks only strengthen our determination to uproot terrorism completely,” he said.
