Any attempt of infiltration will be swiftly thwarted: BSF DG

SRINAGAR, NOV 09: The Director General of the Border Security Force (DG BSF) reaffirmed the resolute commitment of security forces to thwart any infiltration attempts along the borders.
DG Nitin Agrawal also underlined the state of readiness of security forces, highlighting their unwavering vigilance in response to ongoing efforts to infiltrate individuals or groups across the border.

“State of alertness remains paramount to ensure the safety and security of the people, especially in light of recurrent attempts to infiltrate militants before specific seasons or under conditions conducive to such activities,” the DG told reports here in Srinagar.
Agrawal shed light on the persistent efforts from across the border to infiltrate militants before the arrival of winter and the closure of mountain routes due to heavy snowfall.
He confirmed the state of high alert maintained by security forces and mentioned his recent visit to the Line of Control (LoC), in North Kashmir where he met with troops and Army officers who remain vigilant.
Agrawal assured that any attempts of infiltration would be swiftly thwarted, acknowledging the consistent success of security forces in countering such designs. He also expressed concern over the escalation of militants targeting civilians, a sign of their desperation.
The DG BSF elaborated on a recent ceasefire violation in the Samba district of Jammu, where a BSF trooper was injured due to attacks by Pakistani troops on Indian posts.
While acknowledging potential significant damage on the other side, Agrawal stated that the exact extent was yet to be confirmed. Unfortunately, the injured BSF head constable later succumbed to his injuries.
Regarding the recent firing incidents across the border over the past two weeks, the DG highlighted that the reasons behind these incidents remained unclear.
The security forces are actively engaged in discussions to discern the motives behind these actions and formulate a suitable strategy to counter them.
Agrawal recognized the difficulty in predicting the trajectory of such incidents and emphasized that Indian forces respond to provocations without initiating hostilities.
It is to be mentioned here that DG Agrawal presided over the inspection of the passing out parade and attestation ceremony for five batches of recruits.
