Party leadership signals fresh start with Organizational Overhaul
Srinagar, Jun 27: After facing a massive defeat in the recently held parliamentary elections, Apni Party led by its President Syed Altaf Bukhari on Thursday decided to dissolve all the frontal organizations of the party.
Spokesman of the party, Irfan Manhas told the Morning Kashmir, that the party after the defeat in 2024 parliamentary elections sat and discussed the loopholes and other things, which could have ensured a better performance of the party in the polls.
“The decisions have not been taken keeping in view of the upcoming assembly polls, but was completely taken in view of the recently held parliamentary elections,” he added.
Pertinently, the party’s General Secretary, Rafi Ahmad Mir, ordered the dissolution of all the frontal organizations with immediate effect.
“It is hereby ordered that all frontal organisations of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (Kashmir province), including the Youth Wing, Women Wing and ST Wing, are dissolved with immediate effect,” reads an order.
The decision is expected to bring new faces at the prime positions with spokesman claiming that the party has more strong leaders, who will be leading the frontal organizations in the future to strengthen the party.
However, he didn’t divulge any details about the formation of new frontal organizations.
Notably, the party had fielded two candidates from Kashmir including Muhammad Ashraf Mir from Srinagar parliamentary constituency and Zaffar Iqbal Manhas from Anantnag-Rajouri constituency. However, the duo faced massive defeat as they stood third in both the constituencies where NC candidates—Syed Aga Ruhullah Mehdi and Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi emerged victorious.
The winning candidates also took oath as the members of in the 18th Lok Sabha two days back.
