PAMPORE, September 24: An awareness programme titled “Right to Education and Prevention of Child Exploitation” was held on Wednesday by the Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Pampore in collaboration with the Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Forum, HQ Delhi (JK Unit) at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The programme was organized under the Chairmanship of Munsiff/JMIC/Chairperson Tehsil Legal Services Committee Pampore, Ms. Uzma Amin.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Shabir Ahmad Malik, Hon’ble Principal District & Sessions Judge Pulwama, Chairman District Legal Services Authority Pulwama, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, officials told Morning Kashmir.
Other dignitaries present included Mohammad Asif Malik, Tehsildar Pampore, Noveed Sarwar Khan, Assistant Public Prosecutor Pampore; Khalid Fayaz, Station House Officer Pampore; Mohammad Nayeem, Station House Officer Khrew and Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Khan, President Bar Association Pampore; Mudasir Ahmad Naikoo President Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Forum HQ-Delhi JK Unit and Sameer Ahmad Rasray District President Budgam Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Forum and Dr. Shaheen Iqbal Andrabi, Vice Principal Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Pampore and CDPO official.
The event began with brief speeches by students of the institution, highlighting their awareness and understanding of the theme.
In his address, Hon’ble Principal District and Sessions Judge Pulwama, Shabir Ahmad Malik, emphasized the significance of the Right to Education as a fundamental right and stressed collective responsibility in preventing child exploitation.
Ms. Uzma Amin, Munsiff Pampore / Chairperson TLSC Pampore, in her remarks, underscored the role of legal services institutions in spreading legal awareness at the grassroots level, role of mobile phones as educational tools and need to use it in controlled manner and prevent it from becoming tool of Child exploitation.
Mohammad Asif Malik, Tehsildar Pampore, highlighted the responsibility of parents, teachers, and the community in ensuring children’s rights are safeguarded.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Khan, President Bar Association Pampore, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and students for their participation in making the event a success.
