‘Blood-Stained Flag’: Ex-Congress Chief Lashes Out at Ally NC

Srinagar, Sep 9: All is not well between the alliance partners including National Conference and Congress as the former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president, Vikar Rasool Wani has trained guns against the ally partner, saying that it’s flag is stained with the blood of people.
The National Conference and Congress forged an alliance in Jammu and Kashmir to fight the upcoming assembly polls jointly with both the parties agreeing to give 51 seats to NC, 32 to Congress and friendly contest from five seats. Besides, one each seat was left for CPI (M) and Panthers Party here.

During the announcement of seat-sharing, PCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra had vowed to have a friendly contest with a disciplined and peaceful manner.
However, Banihal constituency has witnessed disagreements to the agreement as the former PCC Chief was seen openly targeting the ally partner–NC during campaigning.
A video of his address has also went viral on the social media platforms.
Former PCC Chief, Vikar Rasool Wani said that the flag of NC is stained with the blood of people, especially those from Banihal constituency.
“NC cannot buy the people of Banihal with money,” he said.
Furthermore, he said that if the NC party show him the single work done in the constituency, he will withdraw his nominations from the seat. “Show me a single work where the foundation stone or inauguration was done by Sheikh Abdullah, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, if they prove it, I will withdraw my nominations,” Wani said.
Although there has been no statement from the party in this regard. But, the party has recently viewed the actions against the alliance seriously and even expelled some of the party leaders for going against the alliance.
