Brave K9 ‘Tyson’ Takes First Bullet, Helps Confirm Terrorist Presence in Kishtwar

Big Win for Security Forces

Top JeM Commander Among Two Terrorists Killed in Kishtwar Encounter

Jammu, February 22: A top commander of the proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad was among two terrorists killed in an encounter with security forces in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district on Sunday.
In a remarkable act of bravery, a sniffer dog of 2 Para SF named Tyson was the first to confirm the presence of terrorists in the operation zone. Tyson was hit by a bullet in his leg while advancing ahead of the troops, but despite the injury, he continued with the mission, helping the forces establish contact with the terrorists. He was later airlifted for medical treatment and is now safe and recovering.

Official sources said that acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army, and 2Para SF launched a cordon-and-search operation. During the exchange of fire, two terrorists were neutralised.
One of the slain terrorists has been identified as Saifulla, a top JeM commander who had reportedly managed to evade security forces on several occasions in the past.
Taking to micro-blogging platform X, the Army’s White Knight Corps said:
“Following successful contact established earlier, troops of CIF Delta White Knight Corps, in close coordination with J&K Police and Central Reserve Police Force, re-engaged the terrorists. Displaying tactical precision, seamless synergy and resolute aggression, troops dominated the encounter site, wherein two terrorists have been successfully neutralised. War-like stores, including two AK-47 rifles and five magazines, have also been recovered.”
Meanwhile, search operations are continuing in the area to rule out the presence of any remaining terrorists. More details are awaited.
