Budgam Transformer blast a massive investigation is needed into the burns and hospital deaths of two electricity employees, Engineer Hitesh Wali and Technician Manzoor Ahmed

DN Sadhu Social Activist

According to the statement of a social Activisit DN Sadhu, on June 13, 2025, an electrical transformer exploded in Budgam Kashmir and an employee Manzoor Ahmed, who was a technician and was checking the fault of the transformer, was hit by the transformer blast in the same time an Engineer Hitesh Wali came out to save his life, but while saving him, he himself was hit by the same blast because the transformer oil came out burning.

Thus both the electrical employees got 50 to 55% burns from the burning oil of the transformer. Both of them were rushed to the hospital. Their treatment was going on there from June 13 to June 21 and now their condition was improving to the extent that suddenly on the evening of June 21, these two electrical employees died in SMHS Hospital. Everyone put into shock.

There was a wave of concern and mourning among the employees, their families and relatives. The young children’s of these employees have become helpless/ orphan .

According to my personal opinion a special investigation committee should be appointed by the Government against the transformer company for its poor/ sub standard performance and the hospital management/ authorities so that the cause of the accident and death of the two young electricity employees in the hospital can be found out and legal action should be taken against the guilty besides the families of the deceased employees should get compensation and justice.
This is a rare case of bravery where a Kashmiri Pandit employee lost his life while saving a subordinate employee for which Engineer Hitesh Wali should be selected for the Bravery Award by the Govt.
In addition, the Lieutenant Governor, Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to Govt PDD Government of Jammu and Kashmir are appealed to provide employment to the children’s of deseased employees under SRO 43. If the children are minors, then orders should be issued to reserve the post for these orphans until they become adults.
