Sharda Day celebrations on Sep 23 at LoC Teetwal


SRINAGAR, SEP 06: Save Sharda Committee Kashmir is organizing ‘Sharda Divas celebrations’ on September 23 at LoC Teetwal in North Kashmir.
In March Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah inaugurated the Maa Sharda Devi Temple at Teetwal in Kupwara.
Mata Sharda Temple has been constructed in North Kashmir along the Line of Control close to the POK. The temple has been built with a view to reviewing centuries-old pilgrimage to Shardapeth Temple in PoK. The temple has been constructed under the aegis of Save Sharda Committee Kashmir.
Shardapeth is an abandoned temple located in Sharda village along the Neelum River in POK. It is regarded as one of the 18th highly revered temples across South Asia
Save Sharda Committee Kashmir has decided to celebrate it beginning with a holy bath on the banks of river Kishenganga followed by Charri Mubarak yatra from Sharda Temple Teetwal to Whiteline bridge towards PoK.
“Prior to this, the final of the Sharda league will be played on September 20 that had begun two months ago amongst 30 local teams. Another tourney named Sharda T-20 Invitation Cup will be played between 2 teams from Delhi namely Milchar Sanskar Club and Kashyap- Paras Club and two local teams namely Hajinar Giants and Sajad Memorial XI. The final will be played on September 22 at Shan-e-Teetwal ground at Teetwal. Prize distribution function will be held after Charri Mubarak yatra at 2 PM on September 23,” Ravinder Pandita, Head and Founder of Save Sharda Committee told Morning Kashmir.
He said MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh will attend the function via live streaming.
The celebration is likely to be attended by about 500 people from all over the country.
“Sharda Divas is celebrated as the annual Sharda Peeth yatra that lies in PoK now and coincides every year with Shukla Paksh Ahtami of Bhadra maas. The notable feature of this year’s celebrations will be the cricket T-20 invitation tournament and for the first time two teams from Delhi-NCR will also be playing at the border town of Teetwal,” he added.
Earlier Amit Shah had said that the inauguration of Maa Sharda’s temple is the beginning of a new era.
He said that the architecture and construction of this temple have been done according to mythological scriptures under the aegis of Sharda Peeth.
