Mathura, —Swami Haridas Auditorium has a surprise guest today in Mathura MP Hema Malini, who agrees to sing beautiful Bhajans to test installed sound and lights at the auditorium complex before its inauguration.
The auditorium with a sitting capacity of 1000 is one of the largest in UP and is the brainchild of Hema Malini, Janardan Sharma, MP representative Hema Malini said.
Actor-turned-politician Hema Malini is an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. She is popularly known for her role in movies and her performances of various Leelas of Lord Krishna through her dance dramas. Her beautiful singing came as surprise for many in the audience.
The audience which was mesmerised by her singing of “Chal Re Man Vrindavan,” requested her for another song. With her singing of “Main Krishna Gun Gaun” the entire auditorium was immersed in the devotion of Lord Krishna.
Hema Malini also called an expert from industry to assist in checking of sound and light systems at the auditorium, janardan Sharma said.
Before inauguration, installed lights and sound are tested, calibrated, and tuned today. The auditorium is almost complete, and the test is conducted for various parameters, Kapil M. Singh, executive engineer for UP Jal Nigam, said.
The complex, built at the cost of 42.15 crore, houses an auditorium, open-air theater, dormitory, and some accommodation and will host major cultural events and will promote religious and cultural specialities of the region, he added.
A RasLeela called Brhamar Geet was also performed by artists of Geeta Shodh Sansthan and Rasleela Academy Vrindavan.The vice president of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, Shailjakant Mishra, was also present.
