Congress’s FFC begins process to ascertain reasons behind drubbing in Assembly Polls

Committee meets, shoots letter to candidates, party functionaries to seek inputs

Srinagar, Oct 26: The recently former Fact-Finding Committee (FFC) by the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has started a process to ascertain the reasons behind the worst-ever defeat of the party in the recently concluded assembly polls in Jammu division.
The FFC was constituted on October 18 by PCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, in consultation with All India Congress Committee (AICC) leadership, to find the reasons behind the defeat and also suggest measures for strengthening the party.

Senior Party leader Ravinder Sharma was appointed as Chairman of the Committee while Jehangir Mir, Naresh Gupta, Thakur Balwan Singh, Shah Mohd Chowdhary, Ved Mahajan and Dina Nath Baghat were appointed as the members.
Sources privy to the development told the Morning Kashmir that the Committee held a meeting and the process has been started to ascertain the reasons.
He informed that the committee has sent letters to all the candidates and party functionaries upto block level to seek their inputs regarding the possible reasons behind the worst-ever defeat of the party in Jammu region.
The committee is all set to visit different districts and interact with constituency level workers in this regard to compile a report and submit it to the PCC.
Ravinder Sharma, PCC Spokesman and Chairman of the Committee informed that it will take one month to compile the report and following which it will be submitted to the PCC for necessary action and measures.
Pertinently, the Congress party has witnessed its worst-ever drubbing in Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape, managing to win mere five seats from Kashmir and just one from the Jammu region in the 90 seat assembly.
