DC Ganderbal reviews modalities for delimitation of Municipal Wards

GANDERBAL, JAN 15 : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired a meeting at V.C Room, here focusing on the potential delimitation of municipal areas of Municipal Council Ganderbal.
At the outset, a comprehensive discussion about various challenges, including population slabs, voter numbers, and other criteria that might influence the creation of new wards and inclusion of new areas under the municipal limits were discussed.

The EO Municipal Council Ganderbal informed that currently, Ganderbal municipal limits comprise 17 wards and criteria for creating new wards and inclusion of new areas were clarified.
The DC directed the EO Municipal Council Ganderbal that the suggestion for creation of new wards and inclusion of new areas shall be proposed so that the same could be taken at appropriate level for approval.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, EO Municipal Council Ganderbal, Tehsildar Ganderbal and other concerned.
