GANDERBAL, NOV 01: In an effort to directly address public grievances and concerns of the public, the District Administration Ganderbal today held a grievances redressal camp as part of weekly Block Diwas program at Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat, here.
The Block Diwas was led by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir along with Vice President DDC Ganderbal, Bilal Ahmad.
The event saw active participation from local residents and Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) of block Ganderbal, who discussed their grievances and developmental requirements with the DDC.
Residents raised issues concerning the improvement of roads, repairing of damaged electric poles, construction of passenger sheds, better healthcare facilities, permission for tree cutting and improvement of playgrounds.
Representatives from various government departments were present to document the concerns and demands of the locals, aiming for prompt redressal.
The DDC attentively listened to the raised grievances and promptly issued directives for urgent matters within the competence of relevant departments.
He assured the timely resolution of other genuine concerns. He directed all the departments to uphold transparency. He also directed that the charges for garbage collection will be levied on residents from Monday.
The DDC also shed light on the various initiatives of the District Administration for making the district Nasha Mukt and other women empowerment initiatives like Sakhi Club dedicated to empowerment of women in district Ganderbal.
The DDC Vice-Chairperson highlighted the importance of the Government’s Block Diwas program, emphasizing its role in creating awareness about government welfare schemes and assessing local developmental needs. He also discussed the change of pattern of fund availability and how PRI were empowered in recent times.
Among others, the event was attended by ADDC, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, CPO, ACD, CEO, DFO, BMO and officials from other line departments fostering direct communication between the administration and the public for efficient issue resolution.
