Srinagar, Nov 23: The modern gadgets might have changed the lifestyle and eased the life of people, but the excessive use of mobile phones and laptops have simultaneously led to an increase in the number of muscle pain in neck cases.
According to the top Orthopaedics, Dr V. A. Senthil Kumar, who is Head and Senior Consultant-Orthopaedics at Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Delhi, said that the number of muscle pain in neck cases have surged to 40 % after the mobile phones were introduced.

“There has been a surge in such cases for the past over three years now,” he said, adding that most of the patients are minors.
“The major reason behind such cases is the excessive use of mobile phones and laptops,” he added while talking exclusively with the Morning Kashmir, adding that the people have been using the modern gadgets excessively, but don’t know the ramifications of its use.
“We have seen a surge of nearly 40% in such cases after the introduction of mobile phones,” he said, adding that such cases are not only being reported in New Delhi, but in all states of the country.
“It is a fact that the people have to spend a lot of time on such gadgets for their work, but it is imperative to keep the posture in the right way. The laptops and mobile phones should be kept in the opposite directions to the eyes without changing the posture,” he said, adding that the people must not use electronic gadgets for more than half an hour as they need to take a break of at least five minutes after spending half an hour on laptops or mobile phones.
The other health experts accompanying him during a function in Srinagar also echoed the similar voice, saying that there must be a limit to spend the time on the mobile phones at least.
“The children should at least not be made addictive to the smart phones, which has been leading to the muscle pain in neck to them in the young age and can affect their health badly,” they said.
