SRINAGAR, DEC 06: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, affirmed that judicious use of electricity by consumers would lead to further reductions in power cuts. Emphasizing the government’s commitment, Bidhuri assured the public of improved electricity supply this winter, particularly for vital installations, with a focus on hospitals.
“Better electricity supply is anticipated this winter. Moreover, if consumers use electricity judiciously, curtailments will be minimized further,” stated Bidhuri.
Bidhuri urged the public to recognize their responsibility in using electricity responsibly. He specifically addressed concerns about consumers availing flat rates without paying the monthly fee, asserting that such practices were unfair to those in metered areas who diligently pay their tariffs on time.
The Divisional commissioner’s remarks underscored the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring equitable access to electricity resources.
The Divisional Commissioner’s statement comes amid ongoing efforts by the government to streamline power distribution and minimize disruptions. Bidhuri’s assurance of improved electricity supply aligns with the government’s proactive measures, including the provision of generators to address unforeseen demands.
As winter approaches, the government’s commitment to prioritizing essential services, particularly healthcare facilities, reflects a comprehensive approach to meet the energy needs of the region. The appeal for responsible electricity usage resonates as a shared endeavor to enhance the overall energy landscape and minimise inconveniences for consumers.
