Elimination of Gender-Based Violence campaign held at Dalhori

Participants acquainted with legal remedies, protection mechanism for victims  

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 29: As part of the ongoing month-long National Campaign, the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM) Rajouri organized an awareness program on the elimination of gender-based violence at MCLF Dalhori in Block Budhal today.

The event witnessed participation from DPM NRLM Rajouri, Qamran Hanif, Sobia Choudhary from the Special Cell for Women, Rajouri, representatives from J&K Bank Dalhori, and a large number of Self-Help Group (SHG) members.

The program aimed to highlight the pressing issue of gender-based violence and raise public awareness regarding its elimination. 

Speakers extensively discussed various facets of the issue, including the causes and consequences of gender-based violence, types of discrimination and violence experienced by individuals based on gender, legal remedies and mechanisms available to victims, importance of reporting and addressing incidents of gender-based violence and proactive measures to prevent and eliminate such violence.

Special emphasis was placed on the need for public awareness and collective responsibility in combating gender-based violence. The speakers encouraged participants to act as agents of change in their communities by spreading awareness and supporting victims in accessing justice and assistance.

The program concluded with a rally against gender-based violence, where participants raised slogans to promote equality, justice, and the elimination of gender violence.

The event was part of JKRLM’s commitment to fostering a safer and more inclusive society by empowering communities through education, awareness, and action. The ongoing campaign against gender-based violence will continue to feature similar programs across the district, aiming to make a significant impact in addressing and eradicating this societal issue.
