First Training for 400 Micro Observers held at Pulwama

PULWAMA, SEPTEMBER 01: As part of Assembly Elections-2024, the first training for 400 micro observers was successfully completed today ahead of the upcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly 2024 at District Administrative Complex Pulwama.

These micro observers have been meticulously trained and will be deputed on a booth-wise basis on poll day to ensure that the electoral process is conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

The micro observers will directly report to the General Observers appointed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for all assembly constituencies. Their role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of the electoral process, as they will closely monitor polling activities at their respective booths and report directly to the General Observers.

This initiative is part of the broader strategy to uphold the highest standards of electoral conduct and ensure the smooth and transparent functioning of the electoral process.

The training sessions mainly aimed to equip micro observers with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.

Participants received comprehensive instruction on their roles and responsibilities, including monitoring voting procedures and observing polling stations.

During the training sessions, the Master Trainers shared their theoretical knowledge, practical skills and hands-on experience of the roles and responsibilities of micro-observers in the electoral process.

The training programmes are pivotal to sensitize poll staff with their roles and responsibilities during pre-election, election day and post-election phases.
