Baramulla July 15: Indian Army encourages the aspiring cricketers:
1. In yet another initiative for carrying out constructive activities for the AWAM and providing wings to the aspirations of young cricketer’s hopeful of donning the Indian blues, 2nd Edition of Genrel Bipin Rawat Memorial Cricket Tournament 2024 and 10th Edition of BPL-24 is set to captivate cricket enthusiasts in the picturesque town of Baramulla as it pays homage to the late General Bipin Rawat. The event is being organised under the aegis of DAGGER DIVISION/HIMALAYAN BRIGADE/BARAMULLA RASHTRIYA RIFLES. With teams comprising local talent, the tournament is a breeding ground for young cricketers to showcase their skills and make their mark on the cricketing landscape.
2.The T20 cricket championship is being organised from 15 Jul to 15 Aug 2024 promises to be a fitting tribute to the former Chief of Defense Staff and aims to promote the values of discipline, teamwork, and patriotism, which General Bipin Rawat exemplified throughout his illustrious career. The zeal and enthusiasm of the youths is overwhelming and the same is visible with the number of participating teams.
3.The event opened its doors with a spectacular opening ceremony at Gen Bipin Rawat Stadium by
Commander Himalayan Brigade in the presence of Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure, SSP Baramulla.The dignitaries encouraged the participants to make use of this golden opportunity and to derive maximum benefits out of the sports events org by Indian Army.
4.The youths appreciated the opportunity provided to them and thanked Army for organising the event. These efforts by Indian Army will surely facilitate the new-age Kashmiri youths, energetic, upwardly mobile, forward-looking, and ready to pursue a life of dignity and achievement.
5. As part of opening ceremony a total of four matches were played on Day 1 in which FCC Fathepura, Khanpora Phaktoon,United Star Baramulla & AL Qadoos won there respective matches.
