Baramulla 02-09-2023: Government Medical College Baramulla celebrated a momentous occasion as the esteemed Principal, Dr. (Prof.) Ruby Reshi, inaugurated the state-of-the-art Polysomnography Lab. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Head of the Department of Chest Medicine, Dr. Shumail Bashir, Head of the departments from Medicine,Anaesthesia,Community Medicine,Psychiatry, Medical Superintendent Dr Parvez Masoodi ,along with a distinguished gathering of faculty members and medical professionals.
The Polysomnography Lab is a significant addition to the medical facilities at GMC Baramulla. It is equipped with cutting-edge technology aimed at diagnosing and treating sleep disorders with precision and accuracy. Polysomnography is a comprehensive sleep study that monitors various physiological parameters during sleep, enabling healthcare providers to diagnose conditions such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and insomnia more effectively.
The installation of this advanced laboratory underscores GMC Baramulla’s commitment to providing the highest quality healthcare services to the doorstep of not only Baramulla residents but also the entire North Kashmir region. With the establishment of this facility, patients no longer need to travel to Srinagar or beyond for comprehensive sleep disorder diagnostics and treatments.
