Srinagar, June 28, 2025: Chairman of Help & Care Welfare Society, Mr. Ramesh Kitchloo, has expressed deep anguish over the tragic and untimely demise of Hitesh Wali, a Junior Engineer with the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD); Manzoor Ahmed (Technician); and PDL employees Sunil Kumar and Imtiyaz, who lost their lives in separate fatal incidents while discharging their duties at various sites under KPDCL/JPDCL.
In an emergency condolence meeting held by the Governing Board of the Society, members observed a two-minute silence in memory of the deceased and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The Society recognized the valiant service rendered by these employees in keeping the region’s power infrastructure functional, often under extremely hazardous conditions.

Medical Probe: An independent and impartial investigation into the medical
procedures followed after the electrical accident, particularly concerning the treatment provided for the severe burn injuries sustained by Engineer Hitesh Wali and other victims.
The Society highlighted the specific case of Er. Hitesh Wali, who suffered critical injuries due to an explosion of an auxiliary transformer at Receiving Station Budgam. The incident, which caused hot oil to spill on the engineer, resulted in grievous burn injuries. Despite all medical efforts, he succumbed to his wounds, leaving behind a grieving family, colleagues, and the wider Kashmiri Pandit community in mourning.
Help & Care Welfare Society stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and calls upon the administration to treat this matter with the urgency and empathy it deserves.
The Society reaffirms its commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of frontline workers and demands systemic reforms to ensure such tragedies are not repeated.
