North India is currently shrouded in dense fog, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures. However, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has clarified that the region is not yet under the influence of a cold wave.
Dr R. K. Jenamani, a Senior Scientist at the IMD, shared insights with Akashwani News, stating that Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh are currently experiencing a thick blanket of fog, causing low visibility at several airports in the area.
The IMD has issued a forecast predicting dense to very dense fog in a few locations across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and north Madhya Pradesh over the next two days. Additionally, the forecast includes expectations of light to moderate rainfall at isolated spots in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep within the next four days. Isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand are also likely to experience fog.
