Indian Army Organises ‘Sehat-e-Kulhama’ Medical Camp in Bandipora to Boost Rural Healthcare

Bandipora, Feb 16, 2026: A comprehensive medical camp titled Sehat-e-Kulhama was conducted at Kulhama, Bandipora, as part of the outreach initiatives of the Indian Army to strengthen grassroots healthcare in remote areas. Medical teams of the Indian Army, in coordination with civil health representatives, delivered organised and inclusive medical care to the local population.
The camp benefitted a large number of residents, including women, children and elderly citizens, through free medical consultations, health screenings, specialist advice and distribution of essential medicines, including sanitary pads. Special focus was laid on seasonal ailments, chronic diseases and basic health awareness in areas with limited access to regular medical facilities. Separate compartments were set up to spread awareness on health and hygiene practices as well as CPR techniques.

Beyond immediate medical support, the initiative reinforced the Indian Army’s broader commitment to improving health standards, promoting hygiene awareness and enhancing overall community well-being. The camp also fostered meaningful interaction with local residents, strengthening trust and further consolidating civil–military cooperation.
Doctors from both the Indian Army and the civil health department were present and actively participated in the camp.
Through such humanitarian initiatives, the Indian Army continues to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people, contributing not only to security and stability but also to sustainable development and an improved quality of life in the region.

A total of 570 patients were examined and treated during the Medical camp.
