As Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm, the theme ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ chosen by the Union government for this day added more colour to the spirit of independence through a unified celebration of India’s soil and valour as the nation commemorates its journey of freedom and progress. Let’s take a minute to remember and reflect on how truly fortunate we are to be able to celebrate this day. So it is the time to express our solidarity with and gratitude to all our bravehearts by paying homage to them for giving the ultimate sacrifice for the country. Our students must go through the history of the country and ponder over the fact that once a food-starved nation with just a population of 35 crores, mostly relying on imports of agricultural commodities, India has now become a nation producing surplus food, besides feeding its own whooping 140 crore population. This is the progress the country has made over the years. Its transformative steps like Digital India both in Kashmir and the country at large are achievements to reckon with. The students must read literature and history to grow their mental faculties and see how the nation has walked through difficult times and reached its present position as a global leader. Jai Hind!
