Srinagar: The Jal Shakti (PHE) Mechanical Division Srinagar is without Executive Engineer (Xen) for last two months, the previous Xen retired on 31-March-2025, since then Govt. hasn’t bothered to post any Xen to the Division. This Division manages major lift water stations of the Srinagar city like Nishat, Tangnar, Doodhganga and Pokhribal, the Division being headless has resulted in non fixation of contracts especially Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for FY 2025-26 and if any fault in Electro-Mechanical machinery occurs at theses stations it will result in severe water crisis in the city due to unavailability of AMCs. Also all employees Gazetted, Non Gazetted, Ministerial and Daily Wagers working in this Division are suffering due to non drawal of salaries for the last 3 months and are facing tough time especially in view of Eid Ul Azha
