J&K on path of peace and development: Dr Darakshan

SRINAGAR, SEP 30: Chairperson Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Dr Darakshan Andrabi has expressed hope for the brighter future of Kashmir youth while stating that the valley is on the path of peace and development.

“People of Kashmir want peace and development. There has been a huge progress in developmental works over the years. The valley is on the path of peace and development,” she told Morning Kashmir.

She highlighted the importance of stability and growth, which she believes can foster a brighter future for the people of Kashmir.

She asked the people to follow Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) teachings. She said the Hazratbal Shrine located on the banks of Dal Lake also contains a relic (Moi-e-Muqqadas) which is the hair of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

“People from far-flung areas also visit Hazratbal Shrine. We need to provide adequate facilities to the visitors. We are constructing new washrooms, and creating night-stay facilities for visitors and Langars at this shrine. This will enhance the facilities available to pilgrims and visitors, making their experience more comfortable and convenient,” she said. Langars are communal kitchens that provide free meals to anyone who visits, regardless of their background or beliefs.
