SRINAGAR, FEB 26: At least three young talented cricketers from Jammu and Kashmir are set to play in the maiden Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) 2024.
The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), India’s pioneering tennis ball T10 cricket tournament to be played inside a stadium, is gearing up for its inaugural edition from March 6 to March 15th, 2024. This season, Mumbai will be the epicentre of new-age cricket entertainment, featuring six competitive teams – Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Srinagar.
While a young cricketer from South Kashmir’s Anantnag district Farhat Ahmad has found a new place in ISPL and will be representing Chennai Singhams.
Having successfully navigated the green ticket, blue ticket, trials, and final trials, the talented cricketer earned a place in the auction, ultimately being bought by Chennai Singhams for Rs 3 lakh.
Similarly, Basharat Hussain Wani from Kishtwar has been picked up by Majhi Mumbai.
While Sharik Yasir from Kulgam will represent Bangalore Strikers.
Their place in the ISPL team is expected to encourage youth to play sports and stay away from drugs.
With the stage set for unparalleled competition, the ISPL promises to showcase the best of cricket talent from across the nation, heralding a new era of sporting excellence.
Sachin Tendulkar, Core Committee Member of the ISPL, said, “This is one tournament where there will be a lot of eyes on the players. My message to them is to play the game in the right spirit. Everything you do or say will be observed. Every player should strive to set a good example. There is no better feeling than being able to express yourself in the middle of the stadium and having the whole crowd appreciate your performance.”
