Kashmir Advocates’ Association Celebrates Constitution Day at Central Administrative Tribunal Srinagar & District Court Srinagar

Srinagar, November 26, 2024 – The Kashmir Advocates’ Association marked Constitution Day with two significant events in Srinagar, underscoring the legal community’s commitment to the principles of justice, equality, and democracy enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

The primary event took place at the office of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Srinagar, where the KAA organized a special function to celebrate the day. The highlight of the occasion was a collective reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. Hon’ble D.S. Mahra, Judicial Member and Head of the CAT, Srinagar Bench, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Mahra reflected on the profound impact of the Constitution in upholding the rights of citizens and ensuring justice for all. He also stressed the pivotal role of legal professionals in safeguarding the Constitution’s principles, urging them to remain steadfast in their duty to promote justice and equality within the legal system.

Following the event at the Central Administrative Tribunal, the KAA continued the celebrations with a gathering at the District Court, Srinagar where the gathering was presided over by General Secretary KAA Adv S. Jeetender Singh. This second event focused on further emphasizing the importance of Constitution Day and its relevance to the rule of law in the country. Legal professionals from various fields joined together to renew their commitment to upholding the Constitution’s ideals and ensuring that justice remains accessible and equitable for all.
