SRINAGAR, DEC 01: After securing two consecutive victories against NEROCA FC and Inter Kashi, Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) is set to play the upcoming I League match against Aizawl FC on Saturday (December 2) at TRC Ground, Srinagar.
Addressing a pre-match press conference, RKFC head coach Ishfaq Ahmad remarked that Aizawl FC has been performing well and will pose a strong challenge. “We have to play our best football to secure favourable results,” he emphasized.
Highlighting the team’s confidence, Ishfaq mentioned the high spirits following significant victories over NEROCA FC and Inter Kashi.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s match, Ishfaq urged players to give their utmost effort, stating, “I want all players to perform, and good results will follow.”
The head coach of RKFC emphasized the club’s commitment to promoting local football talent.
“When I took on this project, me and club owner Sandeep Chatto agreed that we need to promote local talent. We have football talent available in Kashmir and RKFC is providing them a platform to showcase their talent to the world,” he said.
Additionally, the club actively contributes to sports tourism in the region, hosting 13 teams, both Indian and foreign players, fostering positive experiences and promoting tourism through hospitality.
Local RKFC player Mohammad Inam, who received man of the match in the previous match against Inter Kashi, expressed enthusiasm for local players participating in the I League.
“Everyone is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to play for RKFC. We got a chance and we want to grab that opportunity,” he said.
Inam also highlighted the joy of scoring a goal against a prominent club like Inter Kashi.
Real Kashmir is in third spot on the points table with 12 points from six matches.
Aizawl FC head coach B Malsawmzuala said it will be quite difficult to defeat RKFC on home ground.
“I have learnt their strong and weak points. The weather may be an advantage for RKFC. However, we are hopeful to obtain three points in Saturday’s match,” he said.
Aizawl FC player Nora Fernandes said Aizawl FC has been doing well for the last few games. “We will try to give our best and win three points,” he added.
