Let’s play for Communal Harmony: Cricket turf witnesses brotherhood joy

Srinagar, July 29: Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir where the cricket between the two groups of Kashmir Pandits and Muslims had gone for a six, has witnessed yet another joy in the field as a match was played between the twin groups at Polo Ground here.
The players from two communities including Kashmir Pandits and Kashmir Muslims faced each other in the field of cricket today, which was organized by a prominent Kashmir Pandit, Sandeep Mawa at Polo Ground today.

Both the teams enjoyed the cricket as it was after a long time that the two communities had an encounter in the field amidst the enthusiasm and joy.
The match was won by the Kashmiri Pandits team, who played tremendously during the cricket match today.
Sandeep Mawa while speaking to the Morning Kashmir said that the initiative of organizing the cricket match was aimed to put an end to the division between the two groups, who have been misused by the politicians here for their vested interests in the last 34 years.
“I decided to play my role and organized a cricket match between the two groups with an aim to end the division between the two groups,” he said, adding that Sports is the only way to end this division.
“Our ultimate aim is to ensure peace in Jammu & Kashmir. The people here have been divided, our work is to end this division between the communities,” he said, adding that “we have started our journey of ensuring unity between the communities.”
