Srinagar, Apr 25 : At least two residential houses were damaged in a major fire incident that broke out at village Kothiyan near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
Fire and Emergency Service officials said that a fire broke out at village Kothiyan near the LoC at around 3.30 am on Thursday in a house and engulfed another nearby, causing extensive damage to both wooden houses.
No one was injured in the incident, they said, and they added that the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
They said the Army assisted the fire department in dousing the fire, thereby preventing loss of life and property.
“Assistance in terms of food and shelter to affected citizens was also arranged,” the Army said.(UNI)
