Nasha Mukt Kashmir: Secure Path’s Ground-Zero Mission Continues

Srinagar, 29 August 2026: In a determined push towards a drug-free Kashmir, Secure Path Civil Society Organisation, in collaboration with 132 BN CRPF and Shining Star Public High School, intensified its grassroots awareness campaign through a one-day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan programme at Lal Chowk, Srinagar.
With the participation of nearly 200 students, teachers, civilians and community members, the programme carried a strong message against drug abuse, followed by a pledge and awareness rally advocating a healthier, safer and drug-free society.

Speaking on the occasion, renowned social reformer S-Umar Bhat stressed that “Samaaj aur Sarkaar—both society and government, represented through people from all walks of life—will have to contribute individually and collectively. Only through a united societal effort can the mission of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan become successful across the country.” He called for sustained grassroots engagement, particularly among youth and communities most vulnerable to substance abuse.
Er. Mubashir Jan, ARTO Enforcement J&K, while throwing light on the subject, emphasized the crucial role of young people, saying, “Our growing children are the brand ambassadors of this noble cause.” He urged students to become messengers of awareness and responsible citizenship within their families and communities.
Dr. Deep Shekar Mohan, CMO, 132 BN CRPF, underlined the need for a compassionate and scientific approach towards those affected by substance abuse. He said the issue requires “empathy, not sympathy”, along with proper medical rehabilitation and treatment under the supervision of qualified doctors and experts.
Adding a powerful voice from the younger generation, Mehreen, a Class 9 student, spoke about the harmful effects of drug abuse and highlighted the need to control the menace through public awareness, responsible community action and appropriate legal measures.
The initiative reflects Secure Path’s continuous efforts to take the fight against substance abuse beyond speeches and ceremonies and directly to ground zero and the grassroots.
Secure Path reaffirmed its resolve to sustain collaborative interventions with 132 BN CRPF, educational institutions and other stakeholders, making youth empowerment, community participation and collective responsibility the foundation of its long-term Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir mission.
