Nightlife visible in Srinagar, people enjoining musical shows at city centre Lalchowk

Srinagar, Aug 17: The live musical performances everyday here in the city centre lal chowk Srinagar are witnessing heavy rush of the people and the tourists.

The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory government has already said that it will support the promotion of musical shows in Srinagar to revive the cultural scene in the Kashmir Valley.

The officials said that everyday there are live music performances and concerts in the city centre Lalchowk especially in the poloview market.

“These shows are a great way to relax and enjoy the evening air. If you are visiting Srinagar,I would definitely recommend visiting Poloview and the historical Gnataghar Lalchowk ,” said Atul Sharma, one of the tourists enjoying the music show on Thursday.

One of the top police officials said that the night life has resumed in Srinagar after decades.

“This is due to the improving security situation in the Kashmir Valley. In the past, there was a fear of terror, which led to businesses closing early and people staying indoors after dark. However, in recent years, the security forces have been able to bring the situation under control, and people are now feeling more confident about going out at night,” the official said.

The officials here in the tourism department said that there are now a number of restaurants and cafes in Srinagar that stay open late. “People are also taking to the streets in the evenings for walks, bike rides, and other activities. The revival of nightlife is a welcome sign that Kashmir is returning to normalcy,”.

The government believes that music can play a positive role in promoting peace and harmony in the Kashmir Valley. “Music can bring people together. It can also boost tourism and help to revive the economy.

Musical shows in Poloview and other parts of Kashmir are a great way to experience local culture and music,” said the tourism officials.

It is to mention here that one of the most popular musical events in Srinagar was the “Shab-e-Nishat” (Night of Pleasure). This is a classical music concert that is held every year in the Shalimar Gardens. The concert features traditional Kashmiri music and dance.

Another popular musical event was the “Shab-e-Shalimar” (Night of Shalimar).

The Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Academy has been organizing a series of musical events in Srinagar. These events have featured traditional Kashmiri music, as well as music from other parts of India and the world.

The promotion of musical shows is just one of the many initiatives that the government of Jammu and Kashmir is taking to revive the cultural scene in the Kashmir Valley. These initiatives are helping to create a more positive and vibrant atmosphere in the region, and they are providing a platform for young people to express themselves creatively.

The Union territory government has already organized Sufi festivals, workshops and Papers teachings of Sufi Saints like Alamdar-i-Kashmir, Lal Ded, Sufi Mushaira at various universities and colleges.

“There were also performances on Hafiz Nagma, Kalam-e-Khusroo, Kalam-e-Baba Fareed, Qawwali, Baul Sufi folk, Darrvish Sufi dance, and Haziri Kathak, besides literary seminar on Sufism and exhibition of local arts, calligraphy, and Sufi traditions. All these events, according to officials, were to promote Sufism and tourism in Kashmir.
