Nine medical curricula to be taught in universities by 2026-27

Srinagar June 25: Following the directives of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India (GoI), State Allied and Health Care Council of Jammu and Kashmir have ordered the adoption of ten notified medical curricula in all the universities and allied Health Care Institutions from academic session 2025-26.

Besides, the council has further ordered to implement all those notified subjects by the academic session 2026-27 in all universities and allied Health Care Institutions of Jammu and Kashmir.
An official communique in this regard said that for purpose of further wide dissemination of information in Union Territory of UT of Jammu and Kashmir and pursuant necessary action by all concerned the public notification from National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions is hereby being recirculated wherein it has been stated, “The commission has approved the curricula for the following professions scheduled under NCAHP Act, 2021.”
The professions notified by the State Allied and Health Care Council of Jammu and Kashmir to be adopted includes Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology, Applied Psychology and Behavioural Health, Dialysis Therapy Technology and Dialysis Therapy, Health Information Management, Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Optometry, Physician Associates, Physiotherapy and Radiotherapy Technology dates.
“All the institutions imparting education in these professions may adopt these curriculums from academic session 2025-26. However, these curriculums are to be mandatorily implemented from the academic session 2026-27 onwards,” the official communique reads.
It further states that the mentioned competency based curricula, comprehensively complete with all details are available on official website of National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India for perusal, record and necessary complete implementation as directed by NCAHP by all concerned including institutions imparting education in these professions in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
