Mathura, April 22 – Member of Parliament from Mathura Mrs Hema Malini asks Brijwasi’s to take a pledge of keeping Yamuna clean on this Earth Day.She said this year’s Earth Day theme, Our Power, Our Planet, which focussed on Renewable energy, is in line with Prime Minister Modi’s flagship subsidy scheme, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna.
“This scheme not only gives people an opportunity to save money but also reduces the pressure on our natural resources to meet rising electricity demand,” Hema Malini said. Meanwhile, a novel scheme, initiated by District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh, mandating every arms license renewal and fresh arms license applicant to plant 10 trees is doing very well and more than 850 trees have been planted to date.
“The very idea behind the initiation was to encourage people to take active participation in saving our plant. The more we care for our planet the more it will care for us,” he said while reviewing the performance of the scheme on Earth Day today.
The Social Forestry Division Mathura organised a Debate competition in two schools on Earth Day’s theme today.“It is very important to sanitize a child from a very early stage as they are our future and their role is very important in this regard.” DFO Rajni Kant Mittal said.
