Mumbai, Jan 02 : A shocking incident occurred in Naigaon East in the outskirts of Mumbai, where a one and a half month old puppy was brutally raped in this-Mumbai’s suburb Naigaon East.
Actress Jaya Bhattacharya answers a few questions exclusively to lipika Varma

How did this unfortunate incident of rape on this little puppy come to light?
Manisha an animal lover residing in this vicinity came to know about the brutality faced by this puppy ‘Vijay’ who is just one and a half months old.This incident came to light through some children belonging to this vicinity.They informed her that
a 25 year old youth had taken this puppy home and after 3/4 days when this puppy was left out he was in a pathetic condition.His pinus and onus was covered with wounds and blood was profusely dripping down from this entire bottom part of his body.
What was the immediate action taken by you?
Manisha informed us and we decided to reach the residence of this youth.We met his mother and informed her about the harm done to Vijay by her son.She reacted weirdly and confidently retorted back,’ You can go ahead and register a complaint in the police station.I will get my son out immediately as he is mentally challenged.’
Have you’ll registered an FIR?
Yes we have got an FIR registered against the cruelty act of animals.However,we were lucky to get the FIR registered’ but it took us 7 hours to do so.The duty PI supported us but it is painful to see that the boy got bail after few hours as it is a bailable offence.We need to have certain stringent laws for animal cruelty act.
What is your further course of action?
We are clueless as there are no stringent legal sections formulated for cruelty towards animals.We thus decided to take a press conference so that this act of rape on this little puppy reaches far and wide. infact we are of the opinion that this unfortunate act of rape reaches nation wide so that our government formulates legal sections and promulgation should also happen as soon as possible.
Adding further Jaya said,”I just want to send a message to all animal lovers and common human beings to put their egos aside and join hands with us so that we are successful in getting a stringent legal sections towards this brutal cruelty that Vijay has met,so that no other animals ever meet such fate.
What are you specially doing for Vijay to live a secured life here after?
We have instilled that human faith in him.After giving him all the necessary medical aids. He is gradually feeling better .He also has developed a liking for human lap as he is always curdling in the arms of someone or the other from amongst us.
Lastly, I would request some animal lover to come forward and adopt Vijay so that he gets a secure home for himself.Right now it’s home calling for Vijay.” Said Jaya with tears in her eyes
Meanwhile they all have also decided to appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah that those who commit such heinous atrocities on animals should not be spared but the law should be changed and strict laws need to be made against them.
