Over 5,700 Kashmiri Migrants Given Govt Jobs: MoS Home 

NEW DELHI, Aug 6: Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that approximately 5,724 Kashmiri migrants have been provided government jobs under the Prime Minister’s Development Package-2015 and Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Plan.

Responding to an unstarred question, Rai outlined several measures taken by the government to support Kashmiri migrants. These include financial assistance for unemployed youth through self-employment schemes and enhanced security measures such as static guards, night patrolling, and area domination.
The government has also implemented a monthly cash assistance program of up to Rs 13,000 per family and provides basic dry ration including rice, atta, and sugar. To facilitate the return of migrants, 6,000 transit accommodations are being constructed for employees recruited under the PM’s Package.
Rai mentioned the launch of an online portal for lodging grievances related to property issues. The government has also distributed Ayushman Golden Health Cards and established health facilities in camps. For education, five government schools have been set up for displaced children.
The Minister highlighted the online issuance of various certificates including Domicile, Migration, and Income certificates to ease administrative processes for the migrants.
Rai emphasized that these initiatives aim to facilitate the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants to the Valley while ensuring their welfare and security. The government’s multi-pronged approach addresses key concerns of employment, housing, healthcare, and education, reflecting a comprehensive strategy to support the Kashmiri migrant community.
