Parents Urge External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for Safe Evacuation of Indian Students from Conflict-Hit Iran

Srinagar, 15 June: As per the guidelines prescribed by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Indian students currently studying in Iran have already registered themselves with the Indian Embassy in Iran and have strictly followed all earlier advisories and safety protocols issued by the authorities.

In light of the escalating regional conflict and recent overnight blasts that have left students traumatized and in a state of panic, the parents of these students have made a humble and urgent appeal to His Excellency Shri S. Jaishankar, Hon’ble Minister of External Affairs, Government of India, and all concerned authorities to arrange for the safe evacuation of Indian nationals from Iran.

“We are deeply worried about the well-being of our children. The situation is deteriorating, and the psychological impact on the students is severe. It is still the right time to initiate a safe evacuation before the situation worsens,” said the concerned parents in a joint statement.

They further emphasized the importance of swift action on humanitarian grounds, drawing parallels with the timely evacuations carried out by the Indian government during the Ukraine conflict and other international crises. “We appreciate the Government of India’s past efforts and trust that similar proactive measures will be taken now to ensure the safety of our children.”

The parents expressed hope that the government will treat this as an emergency and act promptly to protect the lives of Indian students abroad.
