Prof. Saif ud Deen Soze’s Assertions made ahead of Book Launch during pre publication interactive session

Revealing Insights on Sardar Patel: November 20, 2025 –

The Kashmir Society International is pleased to announce the release the precious interactive session on Sardar vallabhbhai Patel and other most sensitive issues made as groundbreaking revelations by Prof. Saif Deen Soze .
He discussed in detail important contents of his book and other related issues during an enlightening discussion with renowned author Dr. Khwaja Farooq Renzushah, best known for his acclaimed works “Cashmere Bear’s Throne” and “Sultana Kota Rani.”

The interactive session, which took place prior to the launch of Prof. Soze’s highly anticipated book on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, has ignited conversations across iur country India particularly in kashmir and beyond. During this candid dialogue, Prof. Soze shed light on Sardar Patel’s complex position regarding Kashmir. He revealed that Patel was initially inclined to transfer control of the region to Pakistan. However, he paradoxically opposed the stopping of Indian forces along the ceasefire line drawn at the borders of Doemail .Soze while replying to hard question had to acknowledge that Sardar patel opposed kashmir division. Soze accepted that Sardar Vallabbhaie patel criticized Sheikh Abdullah prime Minister of J&k and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for their ceasefire decisions which was uncalled far .This irrational & illogical one sided decision of ceasefire led to the division of Kashmir along the Doemail and Uri ceasefire lines.
On a question that that Water & blood will not be allowed to flow towards Pakistan through kashmir rivers, Prof Soze expressed that despite the controversies, it is crucial to recognize the rights of both India and Pakistan over indus water listed River, and the people of Kashmir should not oppose the Indus Water Treaty,” stated Prof. Soze, who served as Minister of Water Resources at the national level. .Prof. Soze also reflected on the political dynamics of the time when he brought BJP government down with one vote.He , asserted “Atal Bihari Vajpayee was perceived as an innocent figure, yet he was influenced by the anti-Muslim ideologies of the RSS. His government ultimately fell because he failed to stand against these divisive forces.” He further revealed that former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, suggesting that his primary aim was to position his son as a minister in the Vajpayee cabinet, rather than genuinely advancing the interests of the Kashmiri people.
A notable highlight of their conversation involved Prof. Soze’s personal account of his parliamentary experience, where he once cast the decisive vote that brought down Vajpayee’s government, stating that is in record that while directly addressing to Sh. Vajpayee in parliament on occasion of vote of no confidence he told him in parliament that he could not extend his support to a leader whose party was steeped in anti-minority sentiment guided by RSS founder Govalkar.
Prof. Soze commended qouted many leaders advocating Pakistani rights concerning their river systems and spoke in favor of Moulana Masoodi, intial member of the Indian Parliament who was later at age of 90 shot dead. He said earlier M. P from j&k where being nominated not elected while he himself was Baramullah M. P in 1999 when 38% voters voted for him in Baramullah .
His past works on Kashmir during the volatile period of the 1990s have laid the groundwork for understanding the complex narratives associated with the region as perceived by him. The official launch of Prof. Soze’s book, which took place in a spectacular event at Delhi Public School, Humhama yesterday has made this pre publication interactive session very important.
The Delhi public School Humhama gathering was attended by distinguished politicians, scholars, and intellectuals from Kashmir, marking a new chapter in the discourse on Sardar Patel, the Indus Water Treaty, and the broader Kashmir debate .
