Srinagar April 16: As an effort to promote regional Folk Music, Sangeet Natak Academy in collaboration with Doodh Ganga Folk Cultural Group organized a day long Kashmiri Folk Music (Chakri) program at Government Degree College Chadoora today.
The program was sponsored by Sangeet Natak Academy. Artists of Doodhganga Folk Cultural Group lead by Feroz Ahmed Shah mesmerized the audience with his unique folk voice.
Principal GDC chadoora Dr Rifat Aara (chief guest), faculty members and students were present on the occasion.
Faculty member Mr.Rouf Adil in his inaugural speech said that as custodians of Kashmiri cultural heritage, it is our duty to preserve and promote the beautiful folk music that is deeply rooted in our traditions. Doodhganga Folk Cultural Group head Feroz Ahmed Shah appreciated Sangeet Natak Academy for collaborating to showcase the rich tapestry of Kashmiri music to a wider audience.
