Cervical cancer is a condition where there is an abnormal growth or proliferation of the cells lining the cervix (the part that connects the uterus and the vagina) or the lower portion of the uterus. The infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common cause (about 90%) of cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women globally.
Prevention:
there are 6 HPV vaccines available globally. All protect against the high-risk HPV types 16 and 18, which cause most cervical cancers and have been shown to be safe and effective in preventing HPV infection and cervical cancer.
Other important ways to prevent HPV infection include:
•Awareness Camps through social media platforms , Articles , through Organizations,hosting informational events.
•Role of Parents need to educated Girl Child .
•In school proper guidance of Sex Education.
•Fundraising and donating to cancer research and treatment organizations is also important, as it helps provide resources and support for those affected by cancer
•Being a non-smoker or stopping smoking
•Using condoms
•Voluntary male circumcision.
Women should be screened for cervical cancer every 5–10 years starting at age 30. Women living with HIV should be screened every 3 years starting at age 25.
Cervical cancer can be cured if diagnosed and treated at an early stage of disease.Women should see a healthcare professional if they notice:
unusual bleeding between periods, after menopause, or after sexual intercourse
increased or foul-smelling vaginal discharge
symptoms like persistent pain in the back, legs, or pelvis
weight loss, fatigue and loss of appetite
vaginal discomfort
swelling in the legs.
