SHIV MANDIR WELFARE COMMITTEE DELEGATION MEETS HONRABLE MLA ANANTNAG, JINAB PEERZADA MOHD SYED REGARDING CREMATION GROUND AT CHITAAR ANANTNAG 

A delegation of the Shiv Mandir Welfare Association, led by Mr. Jai Krishen Razdan and accompanied by Mr. Hira Lal Chairman JKPCC (Migrant) met the Hon’ble MLA Anantnag, Jenab Peerzada Mohd Syed, at his Jammu residence today 20.01.2026 at 11.30 am. The delegation members include M.K.Zutshi, Pran Nath   Dadroo, Chand ji waguri, Ramesh  Dadroo, Shiban ji koul and Sanjay Razdan. 

During the meeting, the delegation submitted a memorandum highlighting the long-pending need for proper demarcation and protection of the cremation ground at Chitaar, Anantnag. The delegation emphasized the concerns of the local community and the necessity of safeguarding the cremation ground with adequate infrastructure.

The Hon’ble MLA gave a patient hearing to the delegation and emphasized that such essential public facilities must be preserved with dignity and provided with basic infrastructure. He assured the delegation that funds from constituency development fund  shall be provided for the construction of a boundary wall around the cremation ground at Chitaar and issued on spot  instructions/ orders  to A E E  PWD Anantnag to provide estimate of the above said work immediately so that construction work shall start within this financial year 2025-2026

The delegation expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble MLA for his positive response and commitment to addressing the genuine concerns of the Kashmiri Pandits.
