SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 02: Special Secretary Industries and Commerce Department, Mufti Mohammad Farid ud Din, visited the wool based manufacturing unit of Jammu Kashmir Industries Limited (JKI) and its factory outlet located at Bemina.
During his visit, the Special Secretary was accompanied by Vikram K Gupta, Managing Director JKI; Deputy General Manager (P&A), Manager (P&A) and other senior officers from JKI.
During his visit, he was briefed about the efforts being made by the organization for increasing its marketing outreach by various methods.
Further to cater to the government market, it was informed that the wool related products manufactured by JKI are also being made available on GeM portal to enhance the sales.
While reviewing the working of the unit and its factory outlet, Farid ud Din appreciated the efforts being put by JKI management for running the unit on commercial lines.
However, he suggested that various schemes and discount based marketing strategies may also be explored by JKI, so that old inventory which is mostly out-dated as per the market need is disposed off well in time.
Further, it was directed that the management shall focus and stress upon the quality and design up-gradation of the products to make them more competitive.
