JAMMU, AUGUST 01: In an effort to promote clean and green India, the Department of Animal Husbandry Jammu is observing ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ at its Directorate and all regional offices across the Jammu division from August 1 to 15, 2024.
As part of Swachhta Pakhwada, the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Talab Tillo-Jammu today organised a tree plantation drive in which saplings of fruit trees, medicinal and ornamental plants were planted.
The event was presided over by the Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Dr. Waheeda Parveen who planted the first sapling. Earlier a pledge taking ceremony was held wherein all senior officers and officials of the office complex took a collective ‘Swachhta Pledge’ which was administered by the Director Animal Husbandry Jammu.
This was followed by a mass cleanliness drive organised in the premises of the Directorate office complex which saw enthusiastic participation of all the staff members including senior officers of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director AH said that the idea behind launching the cleanliness drive under the Swachhta Pakhwada within the office premises was to increase the awareness about cleanliness and hygiene amongst the staff in particular and public in general. It’s the duty of every staff member to keep his/ her work-place and surroundings neat and clean.
