Mathura, October 9–The District Magistrate called a meeting today as Mathura tops the list of cities with maximum stubble burning incidents in the state.
DM Chandra Prakash Singh directed officials to stay vigilant and regularly visit areas falling under their jurisdiction. “Secretaries, Village Pradhan, and Lekhpal have been told to communicate with farmers regarding procurement of stubble and ensure that the same is sent to cow shelters and CBG plant,” DM added.

The District Magistrate appealed to all religious outfits to raise public awareness about the ill effects of stubble burning by making announcements from their premises. “Stubble burning not only pollutes the environment, but it also adversely affects soil nutrients, and chemical, physical, and biological conditions, killing friendly insects, which affects crop quality and production,” DM added.
Burning stubble is declared as a punishable offence by the Honourable Supreme Court and NGT with fines and imprisonment, DM Chandra Prakash Singh said. “Some Farmers believe that burning Stubble at night will go unnoticed, but they must know that it is now possible to trace incidents of stubble burning with accurate location with the help of Satellite on a real-time basis,” the same is shared with the administration on same day , he added
He also warn that if any combine harvester is found without Super Straw management system or Straw rake and baler or other equipment, it will be seized and will be only released after fitting Super straw management system on owner’s expenses, DM added.
