SRINAGAR, Sept 20: The Friday following Eid-e-Milad was observed with traditional fervor in Kashmir today, according to officials. While Eid-e-Milad celebrations were held across the Valley, the Hazratbal shrine, situated on the banks of Dal Lake, remained the main center for holding the religious function related to the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad.

Thousands of devotees assembled at the Hazratbal shrine for the congregational Friday prayers and supplications, which passed off peacefully. A large number of people, including men, women, and children, thronged the shrine to catch a glimpse of the holy relic of Prophet Mohammad on this auspicious occasion.
The event also saw a significant number of devotees participating in night-long prayers known as “Shab Khawani,” during which special prayers were offered on Thursday night.
It’s worth noting that the Friday following Eid-e-Milad was observed at several other mosques and shrines throughout the Valley as well.
Authorities had made elaborate arrangements to accommodate the influx of devotees for this significant religious observance.
