Tiranga rallies galore in J&K ahead of Independence Day

Srinagar, Aug 14: The enthusiasm and patriotism was visible across Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the 78th Independence Day as the Tiranga rallies galore across the Union Territory for the past couple of days.
The main tiranga rally was organized in Srinagar, which was flagged off by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on August 12 here.

For the first time, a massive rally was witnessed in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district where 2500 meter tricolour was unfurled during the rally today in which 5000 people participated.
Similarly, 750 metre National Flag was also displayed at the Chenab rail bridge yesterday. The students held the Tricolour in their hands raised above their head and chanted patriotic slogans like “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. They were surrounded by the police personnel for security during the entirety of the march.
From district administrations, police department & students to security forces, the rallies witnessed massive participation of people in Srinagar and elsewhere.
The rally was organized yesterday by the CRPF’s Srinagar sector, which started from Dalgate and culminated at Nishat, covering a significant stretch along the picturesque Dal Lake.
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) also organised a Tiranga bike rally in Batamaloo area of the city. The rallies were also held in Ganderbal, Baramulla, Kupwara, and Shopian districts.
Moreover, the streets of Srinagar have been illuminated with tricolour lighting ahead of the Independence Day.
The streets of Srinagar, especially in and around Lal Chowk wore an attractive look after the authorities illuminated the roads and buildings here.
Pertinently, the government here has said that adequate security and other measures have been put in place to ensure smooth conduct of Independence-Day.
